DESCRIPTION:Creative writing workshop in Penrith! \nIn this workshop we will look at writing exercises that help open and nourish your creativity. These are from Natalie Goldberg’s famous system\, taught together with sitting meditation to help you both relax and go deeper in your writing. This course has 12 places only. \nWe will learn practical writing exercises developed by Natalie Goldberg\, one of the most famous creative writing teachers in the world. \nDaniel Skyle\, who will be teaching this course\, has used them himself all his\nlife\, and they have formed a strong foundation for his work as author\, published poet and journalist. He has a BA in Journalism and an MA in\nCreative Writing. \nThe exercises are practical ways to help you see more of your creativity\, open\nit and nourish it – whether you want to use your creativity for your life\, for\nyour writing\, painting\, or self-development\, Natalie Goldberg’s system grew out of  lifelong training in Zen meditation. \nDaniel Skyle has also practiced meditation his entire life\, including training in\nChina\, and he will teach the basics of sitting meditation. You do not need any\nprevious meditation experience to learn this or to do the course \nSitting meditation will be done on chairs – but if you have previous experience\nand have a meditation pillow\, it’s fine to bring this. \nYou need to bring a pen and a notebook. Daniel will also give you some\nselected text examples and pieces of writing advice\, both from his own work\nand that of other writers. \nPrice for the session is £35. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nFused Glass Workshop – making a curved suncatcher. \n2.5 hours – £60 per person – Contact us via e-mail\, website contact sheet or mobile to book on this course. \n \nIn this workshop you will design and make a fused glass curve which will\ncatch the sunlight on a windowsill\, or shine with a candle behind it. \nThis is an ideal way of just having fun creating and will give you basic\ninformation about art glass. \n \nWe will start with a brief overview of different types of glass and you will get\nan idea of the many processes possible. \nGlass will be pre-cut for you\, or you can have a go at cutting it yourself and\nembellishments will be provided in various colours. Once you have perfected\nyour design\, your piece will be taken away for firing in a kiln and slumped into\na curve for you to collect in around ten days. \n \nThe course includes:\nAll materials and equipment\nOne finished piece (if time permits it may be possible for you to make\nanother piece at an additional cost)\nInformation about different aspects of glass fusing\nAll firing costs\nRefreshments\nPlease ensure you wear closed toed shoes.
